Outstanding Tauranga Girls' College athlete Amy Robinson was the individual star at the New Zealand Secondary Schools' Athletics Championships in Hamilton.
The overall performances from Western Bay college athletes at the weekend were encouraging and with so many of the top performers back at school next year, even better results are likely in the future.
Robinson shrugged off the fatigue of a brutal two-day schedule to land triple gold medals, plus a silver and a bronze, in a stunning personal display.
The gifted 17-year-old won gold in the long jump (5.74m) and 300m hurdles (43.86) double, before helping Tauranga Girls' to top spot on the podium in the 4x100m.
On a hectic weekend of competition she also took a 4x400m silver and an 100m bronze, recording a lifetime best of 12.15.
