The Waikareao Estuary loop has been fully reopened just in time for the long weekend.
The track was completely closed after the storm and king tide on January 5.
Most of the track was only closed for a couple of days, however the track on the Takitimu side was severelydamaged through scouring and damage to footbridges.
A Tauranga City Council spokeswoman said the track was closed just north of Waihi Rd and ended at Chapel St.
The spokeswoman said council reduced the size of the closed area as work was completed and the track was reopened yesterday afternoon.
