A ward at Tauranga Hospital that was forced to close due to an influenza outbreak has reopened.
Bay of Plenty District Health Board infectious diseases specialist Dr Diane Hanfelt-Goade said there had been no new cases of Influenza for more than 48 hours and Ward 2A reopened yesterday.

"Our advice to the public is to be very vigilant about hand hygiene, including regular hand washing with soap and water or alcohol gel. If you are feeling unwell you should contact your GP," said Dr Diane Hanfelt-Goade.
