A Tauranga man is in a stable condition in Tauranga Hospital's Intensive Care Unit after the motorbike he was riding collided with a car.
The 64-year-old man suffered serious injuries after the collision at the intersection of Devonport Rd and 11th Ave just before 2pm on Monday.
Bay of Plenty District Health Board communications manager Diana Marriott said the man is in a stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit at Tauranga Hospital.
A police spokeswoman said the driver of the car initially left the scene of the crash but had since been found.
"No charges have been laid at this stage. Inquiries are ongoing."
