Living in a street with a golden touch comes as no surprise to Tauranga family man Matt Wooten.

The Stirling Grove resident has the satisfaction of knowing that recent house sales in his street have soared up to 73 per cent higher than the city council's rating valuations.
He shares his Greerton cul-de-sac with a house that sold in November for 70 per cent above valuation and another house that achieved a 73 per cent increase when it sold in August. The council's valuations were based on 2015 sales to July 1.
Mr Wooten shifted into the street 13 years ago before children were on the horizon and his priorities were quite different. "I wasn't thinking about schools."
