The Mount Lions and Lioness Annual Book Fair has proved books are still in fashion after three busy days of people stocking up on summer reads.
The event was run jointly by the Mount Maunganui and Districts Lions and Lioness clubs at the Mount Sports Centre at Blake Park from Friday through until Sunday.
Lioness club president Christine Potter said this was the first time in the event's 17-year history it had been held on a Friday night.
"It was very well supported, we had queues of people waiting. There was very strong interest in the vinyl records and DVDs - and it continued on strongly."
The clubs also had a sausage sizzle on Friday night and Saturday.
