Mr Grenfell said the Shanton business was advertised for sale by the receivers and specific parties were approached directly.
"No purchaser was identified," he said.
Mr Grenfell said both staff at the Tauranga store were understood to have found jobs and at least one of three staff working at the Rotorua Fenton store had also done so.
"Three of the five staff at the Rotorua Mall store resigned prior to notification the store was closing, of which we understand two have jobs we know of," he said.
Mr Grenfell said the receivers were still working through the process to determine what employee entitlements were owing to them.
"Proceeds available from net stock realisations will be utilised to pay employee's preferential claims," he said.
Mr Grenfell said the receivers were still working to establish the amount of debt owed by the company to all its creditors.
Across town the doors of Pumpkin Patch in Fraser Cove and Bayfair remained open after the chain went into receivership in October last year.
The receivers earlier said they were unable to find a new buyer.
Six staff at the Fraser Cove store, nine at Bayfair and another six at the Rotorua branch were among the 1400 staff across the country who would lose their jobs.
KordaMentha receiver Brendon Gibson said it was too early to say when individual stores would close, and some might continue to trade through January and February, depending on how long stock lasted.
