A 41-year-old male has been arrested and charged with arson in connection to a fire that destroyed a Rangiuru home on Monday.

Emergency services were called to the McMeeking Rd property, Te Puke, shortly before 3.30pm.

The man will appear in the Tauranga District Court on Friday. The house was a three bedroom home owned by a local Maori Trust.
