Motorists heading to Papamoa this weekend are warned of detours on State Highway 2 this weekend.
Short detours will be in place at the SH2/ Domain Rd interchange on Sunday.
Contractors will be working on the new bridge over the existing highway as part of the Tauranga Eastern Link (TEL) project.
The NZ Transport Agency advised motorists to expect short delays between 7pm on Sunday and 6am Monday while the work is completed.
Te Puke bound traffic will be diverted at the Domain Rd/SH2 intersection via Tara Rd, Parton Rd and Bell Rd.
Traffic from Te Puke or Welcome Bay Road will be diverted via the west bound slip lane onto a temporary intersection and will travel back onto SH2 at the Domain Rd/ Tara Rd roundabout.
Motorists have been advised to drive with care whilst this traffic management is in place.
The Transport Agency thanked motorists for their patience and on-going co-operation while construction on the TEL project continues.
