Matapihi residents turned up in droves yesterday to give their opinion on the proposed new $102 million Baypark to Bayfair link.
NZ Transport Agency staff held two public information sessions at Baypark to answer questions about the new flyovers.
The changes would include two flyovers, one which would take State Highway 2 over the Maunganui Rd-Girven Rd intersection and a second taking State Highway 29 over the railway line and the Te Maunga intersection.
The East Coast Main Trunk railway line would be relocated behind Owens Place.
Matapihi residents spoken to by the Bay of Plenty Times expressed concern there would remain only one way in and out of the peninsula.
