Mountain biking teen still 'serious'

The 14-year-old boy who fell off his mountain bike at Oropi this week remains in a serious condition at Tauranga Hospital.

The boy had been riding at the rear of some houses on Oropi Rd with a friend when he fell off.

He was treated by St Johns paramedics and flown to Tauranga Hospital by the Bay Trust Rescue helicopter.

The boy was admitted to the hospital's intensive care unit in a serious condition.

A Tauranga Hospital spokeswoman said the boy was remained in a serious condition this morning.
