Seven-year-old Reuben Cumberpatch has been chosen as one of five national runners up in the Big Fair Bake, an online baking competition.
The contest was run by Fairtrade Australia & New Zealand from August 27th to September 10th this year.
Reuben's Farmer Friendly Banana Loaf, was baked with Fairnando Fairtrade Certified bananas and Trade Aid's Fairtrade sugar.
"Fairtrade is good because the farmers get a good payment. It's important because the farmers do lots of work and if you don't buy Fairtrade then they don't get enough money to buy stuff for their family," says Reuben.
New Zealanders were asked to choose Fairtrade products with a verifiable label and bake something to share with family and friends.
