Two men were arrested after gang-related disorder in Ashburton yesterday.
Police said they were called to the scene of an altercation after a black SUV rammed another car.
Members of the public reported there was a firearm involved in the altercation between men with gang connections.
The Armed Offenders Squad and police dog handlers were called in after the driver of the SUV left the scene on foot.
Two men were later arrested.
A 23-year-old Ashburton man is now facing a number of charges including aggravated robbery, unlawful possession of a firearm, theft, dangerous driving and other driving related matters.
He will appear in Christchurch District Court today.
A 31-year-old man is due appear in Ashburton District Court on April 13 charged with possession of an offensive weapon.
