The Waverley Women's Golf Club made history when they claimed the Dow-Agro Taranaki Handicap Pennants golf title last week, matching the men's epic victory earlier in the month.
It is the first time both the men and women from Waverley have won their respective pennants title in the same season.
In wet conditions the women travelled to the Manaia Golf Club on May 27 for the showdown.
In the morning round the women played the Urenui Golf Club and dominated by winning all six matches.
In deteriorating conditions the women took on Te Ngutu Golf Club, the winners from the other side of the draw. Te Ngutu had beaten the Westown Golf Club in the morning but were no match for the Waverley women who won five of the six matches.
