Fast-running, exciting polo was the order of the day at Tangimoana over the weekend for the final games of the Wairarapa-Wellington Cup tournament.

The event is now run by the Rangitikei Polo Club.

In the open final, superb goals by Adam Haworth and Glenn Sherriff, ably backed up by great play from Cam McKelvie and Brad Beatson, made it look as if Rangitikei could win the match-up.

But Wanstead were always able to come back with an equaliser with the match ending in a draw.

Extra time was called and Rangitikei looked to have the edge but in the end Wanstead slotted the goal required to win the match.
