No love was lost between transtasman sister schools as Wanganui High School hosted their Australian counterparts from Wanganui Park Secondary College for a sports exchange on Tuesday.

Wanganui Park is based in Shepparton, Victoria, about 200km north of Melbourne.

The visitors brought two junior girls' netball teams and their junior tennis players.

Both netball contests were won by the Victorians, although the games were closely contested.

However, the Aussies faced a strong tennis contingent from the local scene, which included names such as Paris Butters and Gabrielle Hiri, and the tables were turned, Wanganui High winning 12 games to 2.

It was the sixth visit in the last 10 years from the Wanganui Park students.

The Wanganui High netball and tennis players are looking at the feasibility of organising a return trip for next year.
