Wanganui teenagers Aiden Nossiter and Max Brown are national champions of the Czech Republic.
The pair have had a great run in the first two days of racing with their New Zealand Under 18 junior canoe sprint team in the Czech Republic nationals, which is the warm up to theirappearance at the Junior World Championships Canada this August.
Together, the pair won the Under 19 Men's K2 1000m, then combined with Sam Roy and Kurtis Imrie to win the K4 1000m.
These were two of six titles taken out by the New Zealand crews, delighting their coaches Andras Szabo and Leigh Baker.
The team was preparing for the 200m races yesterday and were confident of more podium places.
After flying in a week ago, in the leadup to the regatta they had been putting in a lot of hard training in Racice, where the racing is held, a short distance north of Prague.
All of this is preparation for the Junior Worlds from August 1-4, being held at Welland, which is in the Niagara region near Toronto.
