Wanganui High School edged out Nga Tawa and Waverley Primary to take out the fundraising Equestrian Interschool Gymkhana last week.

The event, designed to raise funds for the Wanganui Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA), hosted 46 riders from 12 Wanganui and district schools to compete at the racecourse for overall individual prizes and teams events.

RDA secretary/treasurer Cath Matthews said the money raised goes towards general operational expenses, to help service the 60 riders and 10 horses at RDA. The programme included games, ring classes, show jumping and show hunter.

The winners of the individual in each category were:

Red Ring - Isabella Henderson 1, Georgia O'Malley 2, Kaia Patene 3, Ashleigh Mills 4, Jorja Plane 5, Elena O'Leary 6.
