The 2016 Heartland player of the year Te Rangatira Waitokia has officially joined the professional ranks after signing a two-year deal with the Manawatu Turbos.
The 21-year-old Waitokia came home from the Massey University club to play for Wanganui Metro in last season's Manawatu Colts competition, and earned selection forSteelform Wanganui, scoring 12 tries in 11 games.
He returned to Varsity team in Palmerston North this season.
Waitokia has also been named in the Hurricanes Development team to play Wanganui on Queens Birthday Monday.
