It was a victory so nice they did it twice as the Wanganui RSA indoor bowling team made it back-to-back national titles in Napier last weekend.
And the foursome will be aiming for a three-peat when the national competition returns to Wanganui in 2014.
Skip Warren Freeman, number 2 LindsayBourne and the Scrivener brothers Gavin and Craig won the 50th anniversary tournament in fine style during Sunday's final against a Putaruru team, taking six and four points in the first two ends for an unassailable 10-0 lead, which they protected the rest of the way for a 12-6 win.
"We blew them away at the start. We just cruised from there basically," said Gavin Scrivener.
The team, who are all part of the Eastown Indoor Bowling Club, pocketed $600 for first prize and are eyeing up a third title in 12 months' time.
