Three teams from the Whanganui region were still in contention for the 12th TSB Bank Taranaki Open men's fours bowls tournament entering yesterday afternoon's second round of post section play.
At the West End club, skip Ray Park's Wanganui BC team of Ron Hutchison, Bernard Anderson and Ian Porteous weremeeting the Hillcrest team under Ray Boffa, while Cary Pinker's Wanganui East BC team of Warwick Pinker, Doug Baty, and Lindsay Bourne were facing the Paraparaumu Beach team of skip Malcolm Moore.
At the Paritutu green, Peter Belliss and his Aramoho BC four of Selwyn Prescott, Phil Corney and Keith Slight were taking on the Palmerston North team of Ian Monaghan.
Having qualified for post section play on Friday morning, Park's team defeated an Alton foursome 29-9, while the Belliss four beat the local Paritutu side 24-13.
