Wanganui teenagers Aiden Nossiter and Max Brown were looking for some consolation in their sole finals' appearance at the Junior Canoe Sprint World Championships in Canada in the early hours this morning.
Nossiter and Brown were competing with the New Zealand team at Welland, near Toronto.
As a team inthe Junior Men's K2 1000m, the pair got through to the semifinals on Friday morning finishing fourth in their heat in three minutes, 24.372 seconds.
Just over four hours later they would better that effort as they finished their semifinal in fifth with a 3:48.990 time. That result saw them go through to the B Final, starting at 2.09 this morning, NZ time.
It was a similar story on Saturday in the Junior Men's K4 1000m for Brown and Nossiter.
