We've all heard of summer camp, but what about a winter camp for summer sports?
The second week of the school holidays will see a golf and cricket programme run for Year 5-6 students which involves coaching, a movie and some fun in the Wanganui Splash Centre.
Cricket Wanganui's DilanRaj said the idea of the four days of activities was to provide a fun, structured learning environment with "definite outcomes" for developing the skills of the two codes.
Next Tuesday will be a cricket skills session followed a visit to the Embassy 3 Cinema to watch Despicable Me 2.
Wednesday will be devoted to golf skills, then on Thursday it's back to cricket followed by a trip to the pools.
For this, the students get a pass to the movie and Splash Centre, a three-month membership at Castlecliff Golf Club, and a Kookaburra cricket bat and New Zealand cricket cap.
