Tonight's TAB Quaddie at the Hatrick Raceway looks to be a fair challenge in a couple of the legs.

Here's a run on some of the leading contenders for the popular bet type which starts on race nine at 8.10pm.

The first leg sees the return to Hatrick of the sharp sprinter Run Lacey Run.

She made a mistake at the start in last Sunday's Auckland 318m $8000 feature sprint, which extinguished her claims, but has drawn to make amends for that in the one trap, from where she has won five of her six races.

The claims of the consistent sprinter Rosemore Osti in this dash can't be dismissed. Her recent run of minor placings can be rewarded with a deserved win tonight.

And consider the northern sprinter Versatility as the party spoiler.

She has been luckless in her latest northern outingsand has sprinted well on this track before.

It is a rather even field of intermediate graded chasers lining up in the second leg, where a wide spread of runners should be considered.

A number of these chasers have been combined with open class greyhounds in their latest assignments and will appreciate the slight easing in class they receive for this 520m event.

Included in that category are Buddy Broke, Chainsaw Pete, Just Mac, Mi Ti Pa, Bigtime Jet and Snow Phoenix.

Again, the third Quaddie leg presents an interesting challenge.

Slangevar tends to bounce between the open class ranks and the C4 grade. He is benefiting from a bonus C4 sprint here thanks to his Palmerston North win on Monday and has drawn to capitalise on that opportunity.

Shanghai Sam ran second to him there and he possesses the ability to reverse that result this evening.

That was an improved last-start effort that Wee Digger produced here and drawing the one trap tonight has enhanced his claims.

And a couple of longer odds prospects in this sprint could possibly be George Baxter and Bee Rabbit.

If Nitro Luis doesn't win the final leg, then the Quaddie payout is likely to be very juicy.

He has stylishly made rapid progression through the grades and he has drawn to take that final step into the open class sprinting ranks here.

If he doesn't prevail tonight, then look to the likes of the downgrading Vicki's Quest, the fresh-up Homebush Boris, last Friday's luckless sprinter Matilda's Girl and the ever consistent sprinter Cosmic Fury all could capitalise should the warm favourite make an early mistake.
