The calculators have had a firm work out and it appears Marton Saracens have one hand on the inaugural Wanganui Premier League title with their second hand hovering.
Heading into today's final round with games at Victoria Park and Collegiate, Saracens provisionally top the table a full six points clearof Marist.
Using a new competition format with various bonus points and different individual clubs keeping tallies, the actual spread of the table was not clear even leading into this week.
It is the first time Wanganui cricket has experimented with a different format for one of the senior club competitions in around 6-7 years, so suffice to say a good learning curve has been found to chase any bugs out of system for 2013/14.
Going on the current projections, Marist would need to claim the win and two maximum bonus points against Collegiate, while hoping United can reverse current form and comprehensively beat Saracens so the men in green can overtake them at the finish line.
It is five points for a win, with bonus points being for bowling the opposition out, scoring over 200, and reaching 75 per cent of a target without being dismissed.
The prizegiving for the Premier League will be held this afternoon at the Victoria Park pavilion.
Prizegiving for Wanganui's junior cricketers is April 16 at the Cooks Gardens Function Centre.
