Des Rielly of Palmerston North and Wanganui's Lyn Boyle shared the Stableford Cup at the annual Central Districts 9 Hole Golf Champion of Champions event at Marton Golf Club last Friday.
The best two men and two women from all the clubs combined for a field of 30 taking partin a Stableford competition, played over two 9s.
The morning round produced some were good scores but in the afternoon the "Marton westerly" arrived, which tended to sort the players out with scores reflecting the change.

The men's gross trophy was won by Russell Parker (Feilding) with 85, while the ladies' gross was claimed by Claire Rowse (Feilding) on 93.
A new trophy has been added to the competition this year, a team's event with the best three of four stableford scores by clubmates being used.
The silver tray was kindly donated by Ian and Betty Stephens and the winners were the local Marton team of Betty Stephens, Lyn Shaw, Alan Fetcher, and Peter Yortt with 108 points.
