A Wanganui City Reserve side strengthened with Federation based players enjoyed a 9-1 goal fest against Takaro Titanz at Wembley Park on Saturday.

After a sluggish start which saw the locals fall behind by a goal early on, the home side kicked into action with a hat-trick of goals for Jordan Joblin-Hall, plus a brace a piece for Latham Berry and Zane Robinson. A goal each came from Kevin Keegan and Kyle Graham-Luke.

The victory means City are able to leap frog temporarily into the lead of the Western Premiership league standings.

With all other matches in the division postponed due to Manawatu sides playing Easter Cup games, City head the standings, albeit with other contenders now with games in hand.

The Wanganui Local Men's round robin qualifying round was completed on Saturday with the two groups of six teams now determined.

The remaining sides will contest a yet-to-be-named division, headed by Athletic Weekenders.
