Wanganui Collegiate student and Wanganui Golf Club standout Tara Raj successfully defended her Girls Individual Gross title at the Manawatu/Wanganui Intercollegiate Championships on Thursday.
Held at the Marton Golf Club, weather conditions were less than ideal, with the rain challenging players for the majority of the round.
WCS teacher CostasThrasyvoulou said Raj kept her composure to take the title for the second year in a row.
"The Year 10 student has proven, once again, why she is amongst the best young female players in the country."
At the 2017 New Zealand Womens Masters at the Ngaruawahia Golf Course, the Manawatu/Whanganui team was sitting back in eighth with 84 points, with Northland and Waikato the joint leaders on 100, after play on Friday.
