The competition was fierce and claimed even some big names at Oceanview Speedway this weekend.
Two Wanganui superstock drivers one a keen rookie and the other a cast iron veteran managed to qualify for the finals of the Wellington Top 10 Holiday Park North Island Superstock Champs on Saturday night.
Heading into last night's finals, both Carl Burns and Bob Smith had made the top 26.
The top eight superstocks from each of the 15-car qualifying races on Saturday went through, plus two cars with the next fastest times, which included Smith.
He is a long-time veteran of the track who was making a comeback to Superstocks this year, while the 29-year-old Burns is in his first season of this class, having returned himself after a five year absence from racing ministocks and stockcars.
