Both of the Premier 1 teams made it through to the inaugural Twenty20 Trophy final at Victoria Park yesterday afternoon after disposing of their Premier 2 opposition in the semifinals that morning.
Property Brokers United 1 bowled well in the latter stages of their game with Renegades to pick upa 17-run victory, while St Johns Tech 1 squeezed home in a thriller against Hunterville, winning by one wicket.
United and Tech were facing each other on Victoria Park No1 at press time yesterday.
Premier 1 one-day champions United put on 125-9 from their innings on Sunday morning, and despite Renegades making a good fist of their chase initially they succumbed on 106.
Tech bowled Hunterville out for 96, but had to fight to reach their target, eventually making 97-9 with just three balls left.
