After a consistent drive in the final round in Taupo last weekend, Wanganui's Aaron Marr sealed third placing overall in the Formula Ford Series championship points standings.
This was a top achievement in his rookie season against some of the teams with better financial backing.
The championship consists of sixrounds, three in the North Island and three in the South with all points accumulating to find the overall winner.
This year has been a learning year, coming to grips with both the car and the new tracks.
Marr is hoping to contest the championship again next year assuming local sponsorship levels remain similar.
Marr's results during the Formula Ford Season included two wins, three seconds, 10 thirds, a fourth, a fifth and a did not finish (DNF).
This latest success came hard on the heels of being named Rookie of the Year at the end of his debut driver season in the Weldwell New Zealand Formula First Championship last year.
