INTEGRITY Motors Pirates remain on top of the Tasman Tanning Premier standings heading into the first of their two byes in the space of three weeks after consigning Harvey Round Motors Ratana to the bottom of the table with a 22-5 loss in the Pa on Saturday.
Pirates scored twotries in each half for a bonus point, although as with last week in the narrow win over Marist, goal kicking remains a concern.
Of little concern was the form of winger Clive Stowers, the game MVP.
There had been frowns around the Wanganui Rugby Football Union offices when Stowers continued to play for Pirates without a stand down period after being knocked for a loop against Marist at Spriggens Park two weeks ago.
However, the Wanganui representative winger scored two tries and could be back to his best form which saw him top the Premier tryscorers list in 2014.
It was a good day for the club as the Sealswinslow Pirates won their senior game with Ratana 34-12 to also remain on top of the table.
Ruapehu and Kelso Hunterville also remain undefeated after big wins - Ruapehu thumping Utiku Old Boys 53-10 in Taihape, while Hunterville thrashed the Marist Buffalo's at home 80-3 in their Stihl Shop Wanganui Challenge Shield defence.
