'Perfect weather' for tournament

The weather was perfect for golf, unless you made a bad shot and then the wind was terrible, for the 4th annual NZME Golf Tournament for Businesses.

Held yesterday at the Castlecliff Golf Club and hosted by the Wanganui Chronicle staff, there were 15 teams taking part in the four-man ambrose tournament.

This year's tournament was won by the team from Dempsey & Forrest - Paul Watkins, Langley Atkinson, Stu Watts and Keith Travers.

Organiser Ananda De Koning said the staff were also able to do fundraising for the Relay for Life.

By selling Mulligan Cards - they raised more than $175 for the cancer charity.

"I think the guys are having a blast. We've got perfect weather," De Koning said.
