Our Famous Eve is named after Evelyn Brown, the late mother of part owner Phil Brown.
Glenn Old feels the mare's potential is just being realised.
"She always fought hard but she was immature. She won a barrier trial in Melbourne then fell away after that race. She has built up since she's been home."
Old says Our Famous Eve will be aimed at the Breeders Stakes at Te Aroha or the Easter at Ellerslie, depending on a track being yielding.
Dylan Turner's career continued upward at Tauranga where he combined with his favourite horse for his biggest riding success to date.
The 19-year-old apprentice headed north for two rides and finished runner-up on Swiper The Fox in the 3-year-old metric mile before going one better on Skysoblue in the MCL Stuccorite Bay of Plenty Cup.
"She's a big striding horse and she loves to roll along in front," said Turner, who is apprenticed to Taranaki trainer Paul Bourke. "She digs in deep and when another horse comes alongside she fights again - she's a class horse."
Turner, who recently returned from two week' work experience in Hong Kong, has formed a potent combination with Skysoblue and they have yet to be beaten in four starts together.
As expected, they made all the play out in front at Tauranga with Shuka emerging as the only serious threat in the straight, but Skysoblue wasn't to be denied and rallied strongly in the closing 200 metres for major honours.
Zurella is being flown back to New Zealand after her excellent fifth in Saturday's A$600,000 ($750,000) Coolmore Classic.
Trainer Shaune Ritchie has decided to target the Breeders Stakes at Te Aroha and/or the Easter at Ellerslie, but has not ignored Sydney.
"If she performs well here she could go back to the Queen Elizabeth Stakes at the end of the carnival because a lot of their horses start to get tired at the end of carnivals."
Zurella came from second last on the home bend in the Coolmore to finish one length from the winner in fifth.
Rider Jason Collett told Shaune Ritchie that he felt if the distance had been 1600m, rather than 1500m, he thought Zurella would have won.
"She's come through the race really well and I'm looking forward to racing her here again," Ritchie said.
