Oceanview Speedway saw most of the action for sports around Whanganui at the weekend as the roar of two and four-wheeled motors filled the air.

The Wanganui Motorcycle Club track held an open day fundraiser on Saturday, with the proceeds going to the club's group of mini riders to help fund their trip to the 2016 KTM NZ Mini Motocross Champs in Pukekohe this coming weekend.

Children of all ages and riding levels were welcome to have a crack.

The group heading to the nationals includes Chase Williamson, Travis Andrews, Isaac Ashworth, Matthew Bell, Michael Bell, Ajah Sullivan, Jet Ashworth and Troy Bullock.

Yesterday evening was the third event for the Supercheap Auto Oceanview Speedway season, which despite rainy conditions was scheduled to host superstocks, stockcars, youth and adult ministocks, sidecars and production saloons.

While a low-key event this time, it will be all on, both on the track and off, come November 26 for the club's annual fireworks extravaganza racing.
