It promises to be an entertaining evening of greyhound action at the Hatrick Raceway with the Wanganui Club hosting a Mid Winter Christmas at the event.

Here's a quick run through on some of the leading contenders for the Quaddie, which as usual gets under way on race 9, 8.10pm.

Leg 1: Wild Punting used the one trap to his advantage last Friday to regain winning form. He can serve up a repeat dose from the two trap tonight.

Sir Richie has been treated kindly by the draw after being allocated the ace trap for his open class debut here - he can effectively use that.

The fate of the smart sprinter Stiff will be decided when the starting traps rise. Last Friday this noted railer quickly kicked away from the five trap and he was never headed afterwards.

He can do likewise from the seven trap here.

The locally trained Enazuma jumps straight back into the open sprinting ranks after winning a lower grade sprint last week. He normally isn't that far away at the judge.

Leg 2: The open class 520m chasers get to rest their paws tonight, with the intermediate greyhounds taking the feature spot here.

Forget the bleak looking form line that Space Race brings into event. She is dropping back in class, but more importantly this hard railing chaser finally gains her preferred one trap draw.

Bigtime Karen took on the open class guns two races ago and finished a bold third. That says keep her safe here.

Kennelmate Laugh Like Santa is tonight's omen bet and he is more than capable of being able to feature here.

Both Necter and Bigtime Jet are recently relegated open class greyhounds and a bold effort here by either of them certainly wouldn't surprise.

Leg 3: Tiz Now is a much better sprinter than what his current form indicates. He is likely to enjoy the lesser company he clashes with in this dash.

Belkara turned her form around when easing back in class last week, so consider her.

Cosmic Fury is close to taking the final step up into the open class sprinting ranks and he can do so here. Another Coffee is another sprinter who is poised to strike at short notice.

Leg 4: Starla all but led throughout last Friday, when she was gathered in late.

She can go one better tonight. Homebush Domino has drawn to make her presence felt here as has Wee Digger in the one trap.

He is likely to be sighted finishing strongly along the rail.

Forget the last start miss that Where's Chicken endured in Auckland last Sunday and include him from his wide trap here.

And Jack's First appeals as a sprinter who can inject some value here.
