Wanganui kickboxers will be among the competitors at a big 14-fight card in Taranaki on Saturday night. Eruption 3, put on by the Thai Boxing Studio in New Plymouth, will feature Assassins Guild MMA's Andrew Grey in his debut a 86kg novice fight against Terry Marsh.

Fellow Guild camp fighter Jesse Johnston will be looking to put the disappointment of his loss at March's River City Rumble behind him when he meets fellow local, Tamati Karaitiana of TPK Whanganui, at 66kg.

The Guild's grappling coach Craig Mercer is also on debut, stepping up to amateur rather than novice, when he fight's Bruce Healey at 88kg.

Mercer set up Assassins Guild MMA with Kyle Gallacher, the New Zealand Muay Thai cruiserweight champion, as both men look to forge Mixed Martial Arts careers by training in each other's specialty.

The main event feature's Palmerston North's Tyrone Campbell facing Adam Manisy at 65kg.
