The last chance to make the cut for the annual Wanganui Chronicle 2014 Golf Tournament for Businesses is looming.
The tourney will be played under the Ambrose format with teams of four of any golfing ability competing for prizes and bragging rights against rival business houses at the Castlecliff GolfClub on Friday, February 28.
The Chronicle is putting up $3000 worth of free advertising for the winning team, while co-sponsor Wanganui More FM 92.8 is offering $2000 worth of free air time for the second business house to promote its goods or services.
The event is being organised by Chronicle advertising rep Bronnie Taylor who said 14 teams had already registered, although she was aiming for at least 20.
Additional sponsors are also sought to support the tournament by offering products and/or services for a host of other prizes.
"We want everyone to go home a winner and we are after prizes for each of the four-man teams that win holes and individual prizes for nearest the pin and the longest drive," Taylor said.
"This is a great opportunity to promote your business even if you cannot field a team on the day."
Jason Granville from More FM 92.8, said the tournament was a fun day out and a chance to pit business against business with golf skills the weapons of choice.
