The Whanganui Boxon Rugby League College Girls will kick off a big day of league at Cooks Gardens in just over a week when they tackle a Taranaki College Girls side.
The match is on the undercard of the Central Vipers' clash with the Wellington Orcas on Sunday, September 15.
Central Zone Rugby League chief executive Lisa Reweti, who is also heavily involved with the Whanganui Boxon Rugby League Club, said the day of league at a venue that allows spectators close access to the action was a rare treat for fans of the sport.
"The girls match kicks off at 11am against Taranaki and then the Central Vipers' under-17 boys will follow at 1pm ahead of the main clash between the premier sides - Central Vipers versus the Wellington Orcas, which kicks off at 2.30pm," Reweti said.
"There is a $5 gate charge for adults and children under 12 are free," she said.
