The Wanganui Motor Boat Club's first meeting of the season on the weekend has drawn, at this stage anyway, smallish fields for the two North Island championship races included.
But the feature King Of The River race on Sunday will still field a full 10 boats, the 10 fastest of the
weekend still running.
Local Terry McKinstry has entered his well-known No Offence in both North Island championships, the North Island Pro-Stock and the North Island Pro-Com. The boat has a new engine this season.
Last year's King Of The River winner Sam Huges (Wellington) is back with the former The Apprentice, now renamed. Other boats featuring last year and returning include Tauranga's Evan and Peter White's Wasted Nights, Steve Mathison (Rotorua) has his small hydroplane Midnight and Jeff Robertson (Wellington) returns with his Star Trax.
There will be eight races each day, probably starting around 11.30am Saturday, and the Wanganui Triumph Motocycle Club will have a display at the venue.
