Competition was tight at the top during the Prince Series Junior Tournament at Wanganui Squash Club yesterday.
Around 30 players from the Central Districts area played three matches to the best of five games for the J-Grade level event.
The top Division 1 grade came down to a tight three-waytie between Wanganui's Liam Simpson and Tom Clark, both 14, along with Palmerston North's Matt Brownrigg.
Simpson emerged the winner, with Brownrigg runner-up and Clark third.
The geographical spread of talent was from New Plymouth to Dannevirke.
