A classy northern-trained greyhound has certainly spiced up tonight's open class 520 metre event, in the first leg of the TAB Quaddie (Race 10, 8.15pm).

Jannik has the credentials to make his presence felt, especially after being allocated the No1 box.

The Denis Schofield-prepared chaser stylishly won the Group 1 $37,000 Spion Rose Cup when he last visited Hatrick in December.

Rigs took control of last Friday's field when entering the back straight and it was a lead he was never going to relinquish in a smart 30.13 second victory for his trainers Paul Freeman and Angela Turnwald.

Mammy Brown has serious early pace and that is an asset she must use from the widest trap. If this Lisa Ahern-trained chaser can cross her rivals before going into the first turn, she will defy them to run her down.

On the other hand, her kennelmate Ritza Jack is likely to settle back in the field from where he will be looking for the gaps to open.

He can unleash his renowned strong finish as seen last Friday when he wound up second behind Rigs.

On to the second Quaddie leg, where Rosemore Osti makes her return to open class sprinting ranks following her 17.40 second best time over 305m last week. She has drawn perfectly for her racing style in the one trap.

The biggest danger to her is the adjacent runner Run Lacey Run.

Completely forget about her miss last Friday when she was carved up when attempting to push forward along the rail.

Of the others, last Friday's 17.52 winner Leadfoot Lenny and the northern visitor Uno Lachlan will have their supporters.

Leg three is a much more open sprint where a wide range of sprinters should be included.

In no particular order, the claims of Miss Foxy Minx, Angelic Star, Matilda's Babe, Calamity Free and Nitro Luis should all be considered.

Tepirita Rita gains the draw advantage in the final leg and she can go one better after her bold second over 457m on Monday.

The Canterbury sprinter Dillmanstown has won both of his previous 305m outings on this track, and deserves respect on that score alone.

The locally-trained Red Moova Hoova is currently in career-best form and holds sound claims again.

Eruza is fresh tonight and certainly shows the potential to be an upset contender here.
