Wanganui's Jason Page was the first home amongst the local athletes competing at the 29th Kellogg's Nutri-Grain Ironman New Zealand in Taupo on Saturday. Competing in the men's 40-44 grade, Page finished in 10 hours, 51.12 minutes, 172nd out of 1221 recorded finishers. Adam Holmes, in the 35-39 grade, was244th overall in 11:10:55.
Olympic medallist Bevan Docherty beat the course record by nearly three minutes, winning in 8:15.35.
