Two teams from each of Wanganui cricket's premier grades have a chance to claim the inaugural Twenty20 Trophy at Victoria Park tomorrow during finals day of the combined competition.
The T20 format has been played on weekends when the top club players have been away on Hawke Cup representative cricketduty and as organisers had intended, the Premier 2 teams have been able to foot it with their Premier 1 opposition for much of the campaign.
St Johns Tech 1 will meet Hunterville in one semifinal of the trophy competition, while Property Brokers United 1 meet Renegades in the other.
The winners will play the final in the afternoon.
In the second tier Cup semifinals, High School Old Boys face St Johns Tech 2 while Saracens Maroon play David Jones United 2.
There had originally been planned to have three tiers of finals games, however Council of Clubs chairman Neil Kirkwood said Saracens Gold had pulled out as their players will be helping with the Hawke Cup representative game at Marton's Centennial Park this weekend.
"Marist and Taihape Have had trouble fielding teams during this competition so I have not scheduled their game."
The semifinal games start at 11am, with the Cup final scheduled for 2.30pm and the Trophy final starting 30 minutes later.
