The Central District Hinds and their Whanganui players were beaten by 31 runs in their Twenty20 game with the Canterbury Magicians at Hagley Oval in Christchurch yesterday.

The Hinds put the Magicians into bat and they scored 146-3, with spinner Jessica Watkin finishing with 0-28 from her four overs.

In reply, the Hinds were held to 115-7, with Watkin scoring 23 at a run-a-ball while captain Michelle Mitchell was run out for 5.

The sides meet in a 50 over game today.
