Rising Nga Tawa netball star Danielle Gray has been named in the Manawatu NPC team to go to the nationals in Dunedin next month.
The team is made up of premier players from around the Taranaki, Wanganui, Manawatu and Hawkes Bay regions, with Gray the only one from this region.
In her final year at Nga Tawa Diocesan School in Marton, Gray played for Nga Tawa on Monday nights in the Wanganui premier competition and also plays for Massey 1 in the Manawatu premier division, where she was named the most promising senior player. The Nga Tawa team finished third in the Wanganui premier competition that ended on Monday.
Last year Gray was in the Western 1 team that went to the NPC.
Netball Wanganui technical development officer Lisa Murphy said Gray had shown great potential and leadership in netball.
