Absolute quality chasing action is guaranteed at Hatrick this evening where two humdinger Group Race finals will be decided.

The quality factor was clearly illustrated in last week's heats for the $40,000 Wanganui Toyota Spion Rose Cup, which remarkably saw all five 520m Group 1 heats being completed in sub-30 second times.

Taking the time honours from the heats was the Karen Walsh-prepared Thrilling Boris, who slipped through his assignment in a swift 29.81s.

His task this evening got significantly harder when he drew the seven-trap.

"That (draw) has made it really difficult for him," said Walsh.

"I guess he has to lead them out, which I'm not sure he will. I can't fault him since his heat."

Canterbury conditioners Dave and Jean Fahey have dominated greyhound Group racing for years and they'll unleash three-ultra talent greyhounds in this final.

The recent NZ Cup winner American Warrior stylishly handled his track debut assignment when delivering his 29.98s heat win.

Opawa Shackley, a Group 1 winner on this track, slipped through her heat in a tidy 29.94s, while the recent Wanganui Cup winner Kava Blu pressed on solidly for his second by 1.25 length.

"I can't pick between our three-runners, especially as their draws are okay for their racing styles," advised Dave Fahey.

"It will come down to what type of early runs they get. All three of them have trained on great."

The winning chances doesn't end there, as Top Prosecutor secures the draw advantage via the ace-trap for Angela Turnwald.

Cawbourne Kristy won her heat in a bold 29.85s for Craig Roberts, while Walsh has a sound back-up contender in the 29.98s heat winner Timmy Trumpet.

Expect the fireworks to ignite in the proceeding $15,000 Liquorland Wanganui Dash For Cash 305m sprint final.

The series was set alight by the Lisa Ahern-prepared Allegro Gun who sizzled through his heat in a new track record time of 17.07s.

Ahern, who has trained the winner of the last two editions of this Group 2 dash, holds a strong hand in this final after also qualifying the proven sprinters Allegro Class, Skuzi, plus year's winner Subic Bay.

"Allegro Gun is an exciting young sprinter who hasn't reach his full potential yet.

"Allegro Class is a proven, hardened sprinter, while our other two bring vast racing experience at the top level into this final," said the trainer's husband Brendon Cole.

Local Wanganui interest centres on Sedgebrook Babe for 81 year-old trainer Freddy Kite.

Her stakes earning prospects soared after being allocated the one-trap to step away from.
