Gillespie holds lead in Pro-Am

Former Wanganui golfer Nick Gillespie used his course memory to hold the halfway lead in the Pin-High/Craigs Investment Partners Wanganui Pro-Am overnight.

The Wellington-based Gillespie recorded a three-under score of 67 to hold a one-shot lead over New Plymouth's Grant Moorhead (68).

Josh Geary of Mount Maunganui, back from the United States for a couple of months, is in third place on 69.

Trainee Pro Rodney Donaldson was on track for a low round until he made a quadruple eight on the first hole his 7th hole but still recovered well for his 71, making it a round of what could have been.
