The future talent of Wanganui Boys and Girls Gym Club gymnasts appear in safe hands after their coaches-in-training won the senior grade team display competition on home ground on Sunday.

The Dubstep Xtnders team is made up of 13 to 16-year-olds being primed for coaching positions for both recreational and competitive gymnasts at the Wanganui Boys and Girls Gym Club.

Sunday's TeamGym Display Competition, hosted at Springvale Stadium, involved teams from five lower North Island clubs competing in four divisions - junior, intermediate, senior and open. The clubs competing were Capital GymSports, Harbour City GymSports (Wellington), Waikanae Gym Club and Wanganui.

The Wanganui club won both the senior and open grade competition, although the locals, Team Regnbue, was the only entry in that division. The team included Angela Watson, Liz Smith, Simon Sabro, Kelsey Ditchfield, Tom Dew, Jeppe Anderson and Joe Dew with Sabro and Anderson also standing in as coaches.

The winning senior team, Dubstep Ixtnders, was made up of Briar Limpus, Lexi Maples, Tessa Mitchell-Anyon, Casey Patching, Pratibha Singh, Shaila Hawkins and Tessa Russell with Mel Hawkins. Russell Hawkins as coaches.
