Netball Wanganui has found an able replacement for outgoing game development officer Lisa Murphy.

Donna Jeffery has been appointed to the role and her extensive involvement in the game as a player, coach and sport co-ordinator were major factors in Netball Wanganui's decision. She starts her new job on January 20.

Netball Wanganui executive officer Robyn Walford said Jeffery brings a wealth of knowledge to netball.

"Over the past 20 years Donna has been a senior player for Netball Wanganui representative teams, Marist Premier Netball, coached representative age-group teams, worked in a sport co-ordinator role and been on Marist and Netball Wanganui executive committees," Walford said.

"Donna works well in a team environment, which she has developed from her previous jobs and sporting background. Netball Wanganui is looking forward to Donna coming into the position and bringing her vast experience and passion for the game to continue providing quality netball experiences for all."

Murphy stood down several weeks ago after 12 years in the job to accept a position as sports co-ordinator for Wanganui High School, although will continue her involvement in netball as coach of the school's Premier A1 winning team.
